Salman Khan Hit And Run Case: Defence Continues With Arguments

Salman-Khan-Hit-And-Run-CaseSalman Khan’s lawyers continued his argument in 2002 hit and run case today on April 15 in Mumbai Session court.

Arguing on Salman Khan was drunk or not, Defence lawyer Srikant Shivade in his final arguments said that no drink and drive case was made out against Salman Khan earlier. The entire story was created by the prosecution on October 1 when original FIR was registered.

Pointing out on one of the witnesses statement, the lawyer said Salman didn’t order drinks, his friends did at the restaurant He told the court that the bills of drinks were fabricated by police to be produced in court. The waiter at the rain bar and restaurant had said that no bills have name of customer nor there is any signature on the bills.

He also pointed out on one of the victims who had got minor injuries during the accident in 2002. The victim had claimed Salman Khan was drunk while he got out from his car. He fell down twice and people picked him up and than he ran away from the spot. To which, Shivade replied, this incident of Salman falling down happened near Pandey diary which is 200 ft away from the site of accident. If there were 100 people at the accident site there is no way that the victim could have seen Salman falling down.

Going on with the argument Shivade said that it was shocking for him the procedural lapses in collection of blood for testing of alcohol.

Salman Khan’s car a Toyota Land Cruiser met with an accident in suburban Bandra on September 28, 2002, killing one person and injuring four. The actor has denied that he was on the wheel during the accident in 2002.

Also for the first time in 13 years Salman Khan gave his statement on 2002 hit and run case on March 27, 2015. The actor in his statement said that he wasn’t driving the car. Also his driver Ashok Singh in his statement said that the it was he driving the car and not the actor.

Salman was charged with an additional charge of culpable homicide not amounting to murder that is liable for a 10-year sentence.
