The ‘Student of The Year’ director, who became nostalgic over his father’s memories that he has treasured for life, took to his twitter handle to share the picture, where his late father is holding Shah Rukh Khan’s hand.
Shah Rukh Khan, who got emotional over Karan’s tweet also re-posted the picture with caption, “Oh how I miss my friends who are gone…love u Tom Uncle & miss u most…”
Shah Rukh Khan and Karan Johar share a long lasting friendship. Moreover, the duo is coming back together for an untitled film, to be directed by Gauri Shinde. ‘English Vinglish’ fame director Gauri Shinde, is all set to direct the two stars of Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan and Alia Bhatt, to be produced by Karan Johar under ‘Dharma Productions’.
The film sees Shah Rukh and Karan Johar coming together almost after a gap of five years; the last one was ‘My Name Is Khan‘ which released in 2010.
The cinematic roots of the friendship between Shah Rukh and Karan lie since 1995 film ‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge’, in which, KJo played a buddy to SRK’s character. Over the next 15 years, they delivered hit films such as ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’, ‘Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham’, ‘Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna’, ‘My Name Is Khan’ and many more. In 2012, SRK co-produced KJo’s directed film ‘Student Of The Year’.
Yash Johar died on June 26, 2004, in Mumbai. After his death, his son Karan took the reigns of ‘Dharma Productions’.
