Shahid Kapoor speaks up on the unfortunate attack on Padmavati sets.
On Tuesday, 40-50 unidentified men tried to vandalize Sanjay Leela Bhansali‘s upcoming film Padmavati sets in Kolhapur. Reportedly, after Jaipur attack, Bhansali shifted the sets of the film to Kolhapur in Maharashtra in order to resume the shooting of the film. Unfortunately, the sets were once again attacked on Tuesday night. Reportedly, the police have arrested few culprits who are suspected to be involved in attacking Padamavati sets in Kolhapur. Also, makers of the film have filed a police complaint.
Padmavati’s lead actor Shahid Kapoor has also spoken up about the unfortunate incident. “I am aware that there has been some disruption that has happened. I am aware that a certain amount of costumes got burnt. I am aware everybody is safe and nobody got harmed. The shooting has wrapped up and the team is coming back. What I am not aware of is who has done it. It is unfortunate that something like this has happened for the second time. As soon as there is some clarity, the production house will respond to it. No principal actors were there,” Shahid Kapoor said at Nykaa Femina Beauty Awards.
Well, who attacked the Padmavati sets is yet to know, but Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Production issued a statement which read, “Filed a complaint against miscreants who vandalized our costume & jewelry and set it on fire Padmavati. No loss of life, no one seriously hurt on vandalized shoot of Padmavati.”
Well, the makers of the film had already made it clear that no romantic scenes between Rani Padmini to be played by Deepika Padukone and 14th-century emperor Alauddin Khilji to be played by Ranveer Singh, will be added in the film. However, the film is still the target of the controversy.
Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s historic film Padmavati features Deepika Padukone as queen Padmavati opposite Shahid Kapoor who will be seen as her husband, Ratan Singh. Ranveer Singh portrays the character of Alauddin Khilji in the movie.
