MUMBAI: Bollywood Filmmaker Ravi Chopra, son of late B.R. Chopra, and nephew of late Yash Chopra has been admitted at the Breach Candy hospital in Mumbai due to a lung ailment.
A hospital source informed: “Ravi Chopra is here and is in the ICU (Intensive Care Unit).”
The 66-year-old filmmaker has directed “The Burning Train” (1980), “Aaj Ki Awaz” (1984), “Baghban” (2003) and “Baabul” (2006) among others.
The entire Indian film fraternity is till stunned and shattered with the unexpected demise of his uncle Yash Chopra this Sunday. The last rites of the filmmaker, were conducted yesterday at the Vile Parle crematorium at 3 p.m. His body, covered with flowers and garlands, was taken to the crematorium in an ambulance from Yash Raj Studios.
Among those who came to pay their last respects were Amitabh Bachchan along with son Abhishek and daughter-in-law Aishwarya Rai, Manoj Kumar, Shashi Kapoor, Rekha, Tanuja, Vidya Balan, Salman Khan, John Abraham, Manish Malhotra, Jimmy Sheirgill, Ramesh Sippy, Priyanka Chopra, Sanjay Kapoor, Sonu Nigam, Karan Johar, Shah Rukh Khan, Rishi Kapoor, Randhir Kapoor and Ranbir Kapoor, Kajol with sister Tannisha and mother Tanuja, Sridevi and husband Boney Kapoor, Prem Chopra, Sohail Khan, Arbaaz Khan and Salim Khan, Ramesh Sippy, Ila Arun, Kabir Khan with wife Mini Mathur, Tabu, Ashutosh Gowarikar, Saroj Khan, David Dhawan, Imran Khan, Minissha Lamba, Sanjay Gadhvi, Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, Varun Dhawan, Manoj Kumar, Vidya Balan, Sonu Sood, Shahid Kapoor, Shabana Azmi, Karisma Kapoor, Abbas-Mustan and Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
