Box Office: Murder 2 takes super opening; Delhi Belly maintains pace

MUMBAI: Vishesh Films’ Murder 2, which is directed by Mohit Suri, saw super response at the box office in its opening weekend. The movie has done net collections of approximately Rs 224.5 million (Rs 22.45 crore) in the first weekend. The three days breakup is as follows: Friday – Rs 71 million (Rs 7.1 crore), Saturday – Rs 65 million (Rs 6.5 crore) and Sunday – Rs 87.5 million (Rs 8.75 crore).

On the other hand, last week’s release Delhi Belly has seen a great run at the box office so far. While the first week’s net collections stood at Rs 380 million (Rs 38 crore), the movie received excellent response over the second weekend too. In its second weekend, Delhi Belly’s net collections stood at Rs 112.5 million (Rs 11.25 crore). The three days breakup is as follows: Friday – Rs 25 million (Rs 2.5 crore), Saturday – Rs 40 million (Rs 4 crore) and Sunday – Rs 47.5 million (Rs 4.75 crore). Delhi Belly’s total net collections of the movie now stands at Rs 492.5 million (Rs 49.25 crore).

Bbuddah Hoga Teraa Baap’s opening week net collections stood at a mere Rs 115 million (Rs 11.5 crore), whereas the opening week collections (9 days) of the Hollywood flick Transformers (all languages) stood at Rs 170 million (Rs 17 crore).
