Maggie Wilderotter Joins DreamWorks Animation Board Of Directors

Hollywood production company DreamWorks Animation has appointed Maggie Wilderotter as their new Board of Directors member. She has become the second female Board of Director appointed by the animation studio after their current chairman Mellody Hobson. Wilderotter has a very impressive past experience record including her work at President’s National Security Telecommunications Advisory Committee. Her vast experience in the field of media and communication earned her the seat among the Board of Directors.

Maggie Wilderotter served as the designated Chairman of NSTAC for a period of two years from October 2012 to November 2014. Apart from her work at numerous private and non-profit organizations, she was also the executive chairman of Frontier Communications. Before being appointed as a member Board of Directors at DreamWorks Animation, Maggie was on the boards of Juno Therapeutics and Costco Wholesale Corporation. The current Board of Directors include Thomas E. Freston, Harry Brittenham, Lucian Grainge, Jason Kilar and Michael Montgomery.

DreamWorks Animation Chairman Mellody Hobson and CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg stated that Maggie’s broad experience as both a chief executive and board member at a number of diverse companies will be an invaluable asset for the company’s board as they move forward. They expressed their thrill to add this respected voice to their boardroom. Maggie Wilderotter herself believes that her business background in media, entertainment, internet access and technology will enable her to help DreamWorks Animation continue to grow and transform.

Over the years DreamWorks Animation has given some of the biggest animation movies that have often bagged Academy Awards. Films like Kung Fu Panda series, How To Train Your Dragon series, the recent movie Home starring Rihanna and Jim Parson, Madagascar series, Shrek series, Megamind, Rise of the Guardians and Mr. Peabody & Sherman among others. The upcoming movie Kung Fu Panda 3 has already become one of the most highly anticipated animated films set to release on January 2016. The Croods 2 and How To Train Your Dragon 3 is also under work.
