Abhishek Bachchan Says NO To Abbas-Mustan

Abbas-Mustan had planned to rope in ‘Dostana’ couple John Abraham and Abhishek Bachchan for their next project. But Abhishek Bachchan has amicably and politely said a NO to the director duo.

MUMBAI: While fans are eagerly waiting to see the ‘Dostana’ duo, Abhishek Bachchan and John Abraham back on screen for the much-awaited sequel, another duo seem to have got a huge set back. They are Abbas-Mustan.

Abbas-Mustan are ready with their next film post the disastrous ‘Players’. The film is a remake of the Tamil film ‘Vettai’, which starred Arya and Madhavan of ‘3 Idiots’ fame.

‘Vettai’ is the story of two brothers, the elder one – a cop who faces flak for his younger brother. John Abraham is essaying the younger brother’s role for the Hindi remake.

But Abhishek Bachchan has denied the offer made to him, and politely said a no to the director duo. He has cited date issues and walked out off the project.

A source close to Abbas-Mustan says, “While Abhishek and John were approached for the project, finalizing the script and locations led to a delay, as a result Abhishek had to walk out. He amicably told the directors, his inability to be in the film.”

Abhishek Bachchan’s last film was ‘Bol Bachchan’ and he also acted in Abbas-Mustan’s dud ‘Players.’ The actor is currently wrapping work for ‘Dhoom 3.’

With him opting out, it will be interesting to see who plays, big brother to John Abraham. As far as Abhishek Bachchan is concerned, there has been buzz that he has not signed any film post ‘Dhoom 3’ and ‘Dostana 2.’ So what has the actor been upto, other than meeting Hollywood star Al Pacino?

It would have been great to see the rocking pair of Abhishek Bachchan and John Abraham back on screen after such a long hiatus, especially when there’s no news of  progress on ‘Dostana 2’. Sadly, that wish remains unfulfilled.
