CHHATTISGARH: Bollywood’s leading lady – Kareena Kapoor created quite a buzz when she apparently quoted a huge fee before signing on Madhur Bhandarkar’s ‘Heroine’.

Well known as the ‘highest paid actress’ of Bollywood, reports suggest that Kareena recently hiked up her professional fees even more. The actress has repeatedly resented the fact that female artists in Bollywood are paid much, much less than their male counterparts.

But it looks like the fast rising superstar is determined to change that fact.

After a list of sizzling item numbers from ‘Chammak Challo’, ‘Halkat Jawani’ and the latest foot tapper from ‘Dabangg 2’ – ‘Fevicol Se’, Kareena is certainly in demand for special performances. And the actress has decided to play that demand to her benefit!

In a very recent case, we hear that the Government of Chhattisgarh is said to have paid a colossal sum of Rs 1.40 crore to Kareena Kapoor for her performance in November 2012 at the State’s Anniversary function.

The Public Works Department (PWD) Minister Brijmohan Agrawal, who holds the tourism and culture portfolios, said, “Two hundred and forty-five artistes performed during the week long (November 1-7) state foundation anniversary. The total consumption of the artistes, during Rajayotasava 2012 was Rs 5,21,22,500.”

The Minister further listed details of each individual who was paid out by the government, with Kareena Kapoor topping the list at Rs 1,40,71,000.

Interestingly, we hear that the new Mrs. Khan barely performed at the Rajayotasava for eight minutes for this colossal amount!
