Rajinikanth and Deepika Padukone starrer Tamil period drama Kochadaiiyaan, has finally got its release date and that’s May 09, 2014. Media One Global Entertainment and Eros International jointly produce Kochadaiiyaan.
The release date if Kochadaiiyaan has been postponed over and over again but then finally things have now settled and the film has got a final date.
“The release date has been locked as May 09, 2014. There will no further changes in the film’s release,” confirmed Rajinikanth‘s manager.
Touted to be India’s first motion capture photo-realistic 3D animated film, Kochadaiiyaan is being directed by Rajinikanth’s daughter, Soundarya Rajinikanth Ashwin and has been made on a budget of about Rs. 1250 million (Rs. 125 crore).
Kochadaiiyaan boasts of Deepika Padukone, Jackie Shroff, R. Sarath Kumar, Naseer, Shobana and Aadi Pinisetty in lead roles. A.R. Rahman has composed the music of the film.
However, the leading lady of Kochadaiiyaan, Deepika Padukone is finding it touch to devote time to promote the film. Deepika has always been a part of all the promotional campaigns of all her films but then this one could be an exception.
Deepika’s schedule is too tight as she is shooting round the clock for Farah Khan’s Happy New Year. It’s a complicated cast requiring the combined dates of about eight to nine actors.
Unlike other recent under-production films where Deepika Padukone was able to get time off to promote her back-to-back releases in 2013 this time there is no scope for her to zip off to the various places where Kochadaiyaan’s release is being planned.
“The team was counting on Deepika’s tremendous star-power at the many promotional events. But now with her unavailability Rajni Sir might make an exception and come forward to promote Kochadaiyaan at selected events,” says a core member of the film’s team.
Here’s wishing team Kochadaiyaan all the best at the Box Office.
