MUMBAI: Audiences used to drool over actresses especially if they were dressed in chiffon sarees and romanced stylishly on icy mountains in Switzerland. These were the late Yash Chopra’s leading ladies who mesmerized audiences with their sheer charm.
From Sridevi (Chandni), to Rekha (Silsila), from Juhi Chawla (Darr) to Madhuri Dixit (Dil To Pagal Hai) , Preity Zinta and Ranu Mukerji (Veer-Zaara) and more recently Anushka Sharma and Katrina Kaif (Jab Tak Hai Jaan) have been the leading ladies of the eternal king of romance, Yash Chopra in many of his films.
The late director will have his birth anniversary on 27 September. As a tribute to the late filmmaker, the leading ladies of his films are set to walk the ramp in his memory.
The family is in a mood to celebrate the iconic director’s birth anniversary in grand style and Pamela Chopra and sons Aditya and Uday Chopra are planning a gala event.
So far three leading ladies, Preity Zinta, Katrina Kaif and Rani Mukerji have confirmed their presence.
With the special tribute for the late, Yashji, the ladies obviously will look forward to sizzle on the ramp, quite like their roles in the director’s movies. After all they are actresses later but Yash Chopra’s leading ladies first!
