The first trailer of Bombay Velvet gave us a glimpse of Bombay in 1960’s and it’s colourful night life. We were introduced to the characters in the film, the lead Johnny Balraj a cage fighter, the Jazz singer Rosie and film’s antagonist, Kaizad Khambatta played by Karan Johar. The second trailer however takes us further in the story. While it pretty much seems as if the scenes are repeating, the story behind Bombay Velvet unfolds in the recent trailer.
We finally come face to face with Johnny‘s lust and desire to be more than just a cage fighter. His desire to make it big in the city, to take control and not just be controlled. His this same desire to change his “aukaat”, gives birth to the whole chaos and the destruction that follows. Anurag Kashyap‘s second trailer of Bombay Velvet pretty much gave us the glimpse of Johnny‘s making from nothing to everything.
