Brother of South Superstar Chiranjeevi, Pawan Kalyan, has topped the list of celebrity candidates searched on Google.
Pawan Kalyan, who recently launched a new political party titled Jan Sena, marched ahead of celebrities like Ramya, and Kumar Vishwas from the Aam Aadmi Party.
Hundreds of fans of the Jana Sena Party chief Pawan Kalyan took out an impressive motorcycle rally, coinciding with the actor-turned-politician’s public meeting in Visakhapatnam.
Jai Jai Pawan slogans rented the air as the actor’s fans, all clad in T-shirts with Mr. Pawan’s picture embossed, began the rally from the old Zilla Parishad office, covering different parts of the city.
Item Girl Rakhi Sawant ranked seventh in the Google search list. She has also gained significant response online with the launch of her new political party titled Rashtriya Aam Party in Mumbai.
Search related to Bollywood actress and political debutant Nagma, contesting for the first time on a Congress ticket from Meerut (UP), were almost double as compared to Bharatiya Janata Party MP Hema Malini who is contesting from Mathura.
“A lot of celebrities are contesting in 16th Lok Sabha Elections. Celebrities have always been a major draw for political parties in the Indian electoral process, especially in the campaigning phase but they are expected to play a bigger role in this election season,” Google said in a statement.
Others on the list include Chiranjeevi, stand-up comedian Raju Srivastava, Bhojpuri superstar Manoj Tiwari, Rashtriya Lokdal candidate from Bijnor (UP) Jaya Prada and last but not the least Bengali film star Dev who is contesting from West Midnapore in West Bengal on Trinamool Congress ticket also made it to the list.
What’s surprising is that fact that both Gul Panag from Aam Aadmi Party and Kirron Kher from Bharatiya Janata Party for the Chandigarh Lok Sabha seat, who have created a lot of buzz online, could not make it to the top ten in Google search.
