Ultra makes available 40 films for download

Mumbai: Ultra has tied up with US based WahIndia Inc. to bring Gen- X style of movie watching. The idea of the service is to give the audience total control online. The user can choose between Pay-Per-View and Download-To-Own formats to view the films.

As per the former, the viewer has to select the movie and pay online after which the movie is available for a one time view within 48 hours of payment. According to the latter format the user can download the entire movie to his hard disk for later viewing. The rates for these formats range from $ 2.95 for pay per view and $7.95 for download to own format.

“The exceptional part about this endeavor is we have taken due care to curb piracy. As per this, once a movie is downloaded onto you PC hard disk it cannot be written onto a VCD or DVD, neither can it be uploaded onto the net. The movie cannot be transferred onto any other IP address, it remains only the computer on which it was downloaded”, informs Sushilkumar Agrawal, Managing Director of Ultra Group.

Ultra had earlier produced VCDs and DVDs of certain titles at Rs 49 and 65 respectively to curb piracy.

Meanwhile, the proprietary portal of Ultra Group, www.ultraindia.com would be India’s first portal to have movies on demand and world’s first to have Bollywood movies online under the module, known by the name ‘ Ultra Web Multiplex’.

Ultra has a bank of more than 2000 movies out of which presently 40 movies from Ultra’s repertoire is made available which includes, International awards winning, Shabana Azmi starrer Makdee, Amitabh starrer Parvarish and em>Namak Haram, Sanjeev Kumar starrer Naukar , Aamir Khan and Salman Khan starrer Andaz Apna Apna, Dharmendra starrer Loafer, Raj Kapoor starrer Shreeman Satyawadi, Dev Anand’s Barish and more. Ultra has plans to increase this on-demand catalogue to 200 movies in the near future.
