MUMBAI: After receiving applause for Paheli, director Amol Palekar is all set to release his forthcoming film Quest on 29 September. The film stars Mrinal Kulkarni, Shishir Sharma, Rishi Deshpande, Vijaya Mehta, Sonali Kulkarni, Sachin Khedekar, GP Deshpande, Mukta Barve, Rama Joshi, Amruta Subhash, Pramila and Rakesh Sarang.
The film is bilingual being released in English as Quest and as Thaang in Marathi, with the premise revolving around alternate sexuality. Quest revolves around Sai played by Mrinal Kulkarni, who is a reputed advocate who goes through an introspective phase in her life when she realizes that her husband Aditya played by Rishi Deshpande, who is a head chef in a high profile hotel, is having a gay relationship, after several years of having married her and having sired Nilaya son who is now eight years old.
The film deals with her quest of finding a solution for herself, which by itself epitomizes the complexities of man-woman relationship.
