MUMBAI: Deepa Mehta’s Water, which has been selected as
Ravi Chopra, who has purchased the distribution rights, says, “First of all I am very happy that Deepa Mehta’s Water has been selected to the Oscar awards and I am also proud that I am associated with the film in a way. I have not yet fixed the date of release but it will be in November, that’s for sure.”
“We have started our own distribution office in Mumbai in the name of B R Films. Plans are in progress to finalise the number of prints that will be released and also the publicity that we will doing for the film,” he adds.
The film has been cleared the censor board with a ‘U’ certificate and has received a positive response in the overseas market. The film stars Lisa Ray, Seema Biswas, John Abraham, Sarala, Kulbhushan Kharbanda, Waheeda Rehman, Raghuvir Yadav, Manorama and Vinay Pathak.
