MUMBAI: Producer Mahendra Dhariwal, who has changed the title of the Sanjay Dutt and Saif Ali Khan starrer Nehle Pe Dehla to Jimmy And Johnny, is now changing the film’s distributors too.
“I have already given back the money that I had taken from my distributors for overseas, satellite, Delhi and Rajasthan – to whom I had sold my film five years back. I wanted to have new distributors for my film. Moreover, after Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s Lage Raho Munnabhai starring Sanjay Dutt became a hit, I’m getting three times more offers for the film, than when I sold it five years back. I have retained the audio and video rights holder – T-Series,” says Dhariwal.
In Mumbai, the film will be released by Dhariwal.
“I had sold the overseas territory for Rs 12.5 million (Rs 1.25 crores) but now I am getting Rs 30 million (Rs 3 crores). I had also sold the satellite rights for Rs 15 million (Rs 1.5 crore) but now I being offered Rs 35 million (Rs 3.5 crores) for the same,” he adds.
The movie, which was launched in 2001, was delayed and will now be released in November. The film also stars Bipasha Basu, Kim Sharma, Mukesh Rishi and Shakti Kapoor.
