Sanjay verdict spells cheer for Nehle Pe…

MUMBAI: Producer Mahendra Dhariwal is a happy man today. Just a few days ago, Dhariwal and director Ajay Chandok met actor Sanjay Dutt at his Bandra residence to wish him luck for the verdict on Tuesday.

Sanjay reportedly promised the duo that he himself would plan the publicity campaign for Nehle Pe Dehla, produced by Dhariwal and ready for release. “Nehle Pe Dehla will be a tribute to Sanjay’s father, the late Sunil Dutt,” says Dhariwal.

Since Sanjay Dutt feels that it was his father’s blessings that helped him escape the clutches of the vicious TADA Act, he plans to draw up the publicity campaign for Nehle Pe Dehla himself, affirms Dhariwal.

“He told us to wait for a couple of days, and then we will get together and work on the campaign. Help coming from Sanju in this quarter is something rare! Ajay and I will never ever forget this kind gesture all our lives,” says an emotional Dhariwal.

Nehla Pe Dehla stars Sanjay Dutt, Saif Ali Khan, Bipasha Basu, Kim Sharma, Mukesh Rishi and Shakti Kapoor. Says Dhariwal, “At one time, no one was asking for this film, but the success of Lage Raho Munnabhai and then his verdict in the Mumbai blasts case has benefitted my movie the most.”

“I have received fabulous offers from three to four distributors from every single territory. I have spent Rs 180 million (Rs 18 crore) and have been also receiving offers from various corporate houses for around Rs 200 million (Rs 20 crore). I am looking forward to release the film in January next year,” says a hopeful Dhariwal.
