MUMBAI: Singer and music director Sukhwinder Singh has been roped in to provide an additional song in The Big Picture Company’s bi-lingual film Chooriyan.
The film, shot in Punjabi and Hindi, is completed and ready for release. The Sukhwinder song was shot on a lavish set erected in Mumbai’s Film City recently. Chooriyan has been produced by Vicky and directed by Sukhwant Dhadda, who has directed Ek Chadar Maili Si in the past.
Says Vicky, “Sukhwinder Singh is providing the music for the film, along with Sardool Sikandar. He has also sung this song. We are adding this peppy number for the film’s promotion, but it will also be incorporated in the film. We have introduced Rinal Rauth, a trained dancer from New York in this number. Bhupi has choreographed this number.”
Defending the delay in the film’s release, he says, “The film is shot in two versions, Hindi and Punjabi. The making of both versions are on a similar canvas. It will be the first Punjabi film made on a lavish scale. The budget has crossed around Rs 60 million (Rs six crore). I have shot the film on huge sets, as well as at actual locations in Patiala (Punjab), Pune (Maharashtra) and in Mumbai. Major outdoor schedules take time.”
