MUMBAI: Saregama released the music of UTV Motion Pictures’ next venture Hattrick on Friday.
The video of the promotional song Wicket Bacha, sung by Usha Uthup, was also launched on the occasion. Pritam, who has scored the music for the film, says, “The film is based on the premise of a cricket match but deals primarily with human emotions and relationships, so the songs too are emotional. For Wicket Bacha, which is a cricket based song; I have used the calypso form of music.”
Calypso, he explains, is a Caribbean form of music that gels well with the spirit of cricket. Veteran singer Usha Uthup was the best choice for this kind of music, avers the music director.
Uthup was present at the unveiling of the song and a live performance, said, “Even after 37 years, my career continues to be on an upswing.” Uthup has been an artiste with audio company Saregama for the last 37 years.
The album comprises a total of 11 tracks.
