MUMBAI: UTV and director Milan Luthria’s Hattrick has failed to score at the box-office.
The film was meant to cash in on the world cup cricket fever. But the director, who has earlier made films like Kachche Dhaage and Taxi No. 9211, fails to deliver the goods this time.
Regal cinema in Colaba, south Mumbai, which seats 1,178 persons, opened Hattrick with three daily shows. Against the per day capacity of Rs 1,97,437.65, the film collected Rs 28,140 on the first day (14.26 per cent). Pinky cinema in Andheri which seats 866 persons opened the film with daily four shows. Against the capacity of Rs 1,01,308, it collected Rs 25,478 (25.15 per cent).
PNC and director Meghna Gulzar’s Just Married has failed to achieve its purpose too. The film even faintly reminds you of the recently released Honeymoon Travels Pvt Ltd. Ramesh Sippy and Rakesh Sippy have distributed the film in the Bombay circuit with 85 prints, including some digital formats.
Single screen theatre Chitra in Dadar, which has a seating capacity of 635 seats, opened the film with daily three shows. Against the capacity of Rs 70,396.95 per day, the film collected Rs 49,492 (70.16 per cent); while Eros in Churchgate which seats 1,024 persons, opened with three shows daily. Sea Studios and director Shekhar’s Eik Dasttak is a purposeful movie made on the backdrop of the income tax department. The film did not receive any ‘dasttak’ from the audiences however, and at many places, the show had to be cancelled. Adlabs had released the film worldwide.
The dubbed version of 300 also opened to an average response.

Sarhad Paar’s first week collections were – Bombay Rs 6,30,479 from 18 cinemas (18 per cent), Ahmedabad Rs 1,38,273 from four cinemas (19 per cent), Delhi Rs 10,83,572 from 11 cinemas (13 per cent), Kanpur Rs 58,757 from one cinema (19 per cent), Hyderabad Rs 1,37,383 from four cinemas (20 per cent).
Water entered the second week in Bombay at 14 cinemas. Its first week collections were – Ahmedabad Rs 5,67,217 from five cinemas (36 per cent), Delhi Rs 17,59,374 from nine cinemas (38 per cent), Kanpur Rs 81,380 from one cinema (12 shows, 32 per cent), Hyderabad Rs 1,52,232 (seven shows) from one cinema (60 per cent).
Wounded ran for a week in Bombay at Capitol and New Vijay cinemas. In Kanpur, it collected Rs 63,608 from one cinema (six days).
Bunty – Babloo Aur Jackie entered the second week in Bombay at six cinemas for both, the English and Hindi versions. Its first week collections in Ahmedabad were Rs 3,39,392 from seven cinemas.

Eklavya – The Royal Guard’s fourth week collections were – Bombay Rs 4,98,875 from 16 cinemas, Ahmedabad Rs 72,415 from three cinemas, Delhi Rs 2,20,376 from four cinemas, Hyderabad Rs 1,39,040 from one cinema, in seven shows.

Guru entered the ninth week in Bombay, collecting Rs 2,02,040 from eight cinemas, and entered the eighth week in Ahmedabad, netting Rs 2,11,160 from seven cinemas, in Delhi Rs 98,600 from two cinemas, in Kanpur Rs 1,29,192 from two cinemas, in Hyderabad Rs 1,53,920 from one cinema (14 shows).
Kabul Express entered the 14th week in Bombay at Naaz cinema in the matinee slot.
