MUMBAI: Veteran actor Om Puri is currently penning his autobiography, a tome that will cover his 30 years’ sojourn in Bollywood.
Confirms Puri, “I wanted to keep it away from media glare till it is complete, published and released. A major portion of it has been written and I am looking forward to release it by the end of this year. I don’t want to go into details now, but the book will have an honest account of my life, selective memories and my experiences in the industry.”
Puri has proved himself as a versatile actor and has received the Bafta, Filmfare, National and other awards for his acting prowess in various films. He featured in films like Aakrosh, Albert Pinto Ko Gussa Kyon Aata Hai, Sparsh, Kalyug, Vijeta and others. Ardh Satya in 1983 turned his fortunes and landed him in the big league. He then featured in films like Jaane Bhi Do Yaaron, Disco Dancer, New Delhi Times, Narsimha, China Gate, Chachi 420, Pyaar To Hona Hi Tha, Khoobsurat, Hey! Ram, Hera Pheri, Gaddar – Ek Prem Katha, The Hangman, Malamaal Weekly, Don, Baabul and more recently, Delhii Heights.
His forthcoming films include Fool And Final, Is Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon, Dhol and Charlie Wilson’s War.
