Pak actor Shaikh to act in Om Shanti Om

MUMBAI: Well known Pakistani actor and filmmaker Javed Shaikh will be playing a role in Shah Rukh Khan’s Om Shanti Om.


Says Shaikh, “I play Shah Rukh’s father in the film. I cannot reveal more.” Shaikh is also slated to star in the forthcoming film Apne, where he plays a media mogul who stays in Canada and is a friend of Dharmendra.


Javed Shaikh had acted in more than 150 films and a number of TV serials in Pakistan. He was supposed to have made his Bollywood debut more than two decades earlier. He was to play Kabir Bedi’s role in Rakesh Roshan’s film Khoon Bhari Maang. His first acting assignment was John Mathew Mathan’s Shikhar. Jaan-E-Mann and Namastey London are his other Hindi assignments.


Shaikh has produced and directed Pakistani’s costliest film, Khule Aasmaan Ke Neeche, which was shot in India , Pakistan, Canada and Australia and is slated for release soon. He has directed Pakistani hits like Mushkil, Chief Saab and Yeh Dil Aap Ka Hua.
