MUMBAI: The Film and Television Producers Guild of India Ltd has initiated a series of meetings with government officials to resolve matters pertaining to VAT and Stamp Duty.
Over the past three months, the Guild has been in constant touch with top ministers/bureaucrats, including the state finance minister Jayantrao Patil, state finance secretary and sales tax officials, to discuss the crucial issues of VAT and Stamp Duty, which are currently having severe repercussions on the entertainment industry.
A delegation from the Guild, comprising luminaries from the entertainment industry, submitted representations to the state finance minister enlisting proposals, queries and ambiguities pertaining to VAT and Stamp Duty.
