Nausheen readies for Hollywood project

MUMBAI: Nausheen Ali Sardar, whose claim to fame is her role in Sony soap Kkusum, is getting ready to shoot for her first Hollywood venture, Storm from September 2007.

Says the actor, “I have been eagerly awaiting the commencement of my Hollywood project, which has got postponed a couple of times earlier. I hope September would be the end of this long wait.”

Recently back from a trip to Karachi, Nausheen says she was overwhelmed by the reception to her Pakistani film Main Ek Din Laut Aunga. Says she, “It was a great feeling to see a lot of people liking your work in the neighbouring country. I have earlier shot a television series in Pakistan, but this time, the fan following was exhilarating. The film is a rocking hit in Pakistan.”

Nausheen has also shot for a film, Teesri Manzil, which stars Irrfan Khan, Deepal Shaw and Lucky Ali. Nausheen will be seen playing the role of a cop in the film. The film is scheduled to release in a couple of months.

Speaking about her television commitments, the actor says she is not happy with the current programming landscape. She says, “I don’t find much growth in terms of programming variety. It’s the same as it used to be during the time when I was doing soaps. I’m fed up of the twenty year leaps that have become the mainstay of all television soaps. I’m not planning a comeback till I see the programming take an upward trend,” she ends.
