No level of precations can actually protect your social media accounts from hackers, it seems! Otherwise how could the twitter and instragram accounts of the already technology and security obsessed Taylor Swift get hacked?
The 25years old pop star’s Twitter is the fourth most followed account with more than 51 million followers. The hacker tweeted messages from her account asking everyone to follow @Lizzard, which was the account of the leader of the hacker group Lizard Squad. The group also threatened to share inappropriate images of Swift in exchange for Bitcoin payment! They declared that the group had access to some stolen photographs. The @Lizzard account has been deactivated immediately and the hacked tweets were removed within 15 minutes. The star’s Instagram account was also hacked, for a short period of time though.
Swift responded to the hackers with tweets and statements through her Tumblr accounts. She wrote, “You got NOTHING” and “Nice try, hackers”! With subtle sense of humour she also said “hack it off” with reference to the lyrics of her hit song “Shake it off”.
