Disney announced the sequel of its hit animated film Frozen that bagged the Oscar award for Best Animated Feature Film. Disney kept sequel plan under cover for long and finally made the announcement during Walt Disney Co.’s annual shareholders meet. Naturally the whole Internet rejoiced on this news as everyone’s been anticipating Frozen 2 sooner or later.

Walt Disney and Pixar Animation Studios’ chief creative officer John Lasseter, Disney chief Bob Iger and Josh Gad who voiced the character of Olaf in the film made the announcement together during the meet. Frozen has easily strengthened Disney’s position in the market by generating nearly $1.3 billion at the box office. It has also become a merchandising juggernaut, breaking sales records on home video and at Disney’s stores.
Although no announcements have been made regarding the release date or schedule for the film, it has been confirmed that directors Chris Buckand Jennifer Lee will be returning to direct the sequel. The company tweeted, (tweet) “Forecast: Winter weather ahead! @DisneyAnimation developing #Frozen2.
Kristen Bell, who voiced Anna in Frozen, immediately tweeted a picture of herself lying blissfully on a bag of ice with the caption, (tweet) “Dreams really do come 2!!!#FROZEN2#itsofficial”

Disney also announced the details of its next Star War films during the shareholders meet. According to which, Star Wars: Episode VIII will be released on May 26, 2017 and Star Wars film Rogue One starring Felicity Jones will be out on December 16, 2016.
