Vidya Balan and Emraan Hashmi‘s emotional love story Hamari Adhuri Kahani has had a rough time in its first weekend by showing a slow pace of growth. The film that managed to collect 5 crore net (50 million) approx on first day went on to collect similar amount on day 2 that is Saturday. By the end of its third day Hamari Adhuri Kahani stands at 16 crore net (160 millions) approx which is the film’s first weekend collection.
As reported earlier Hamari Adhuri Kahani had to cope up during the weekend in order to cover the ground left by its low opening collection. The film is facing competition from Hollywood release Jurassic World which received higher response during Saturday and Sunday. Hamari Adhuri Kahani has received good response from North West regions like Gujarat but did not perform so well in the major metropolitan multiplexes. The film had a decent occupancy rate of 15-20 percent on its opening day.
Hamari Adhuri Kahani walks on the lines of films based on matured relationships. Showing emotional turmoil, chaos and distress in the married lives of the central characters, the film offers a budding romance between two long lost lovers played by Emraan Hashmi and Vidya Balan. Romantic films generally attract audiences well and the actors of the film have managed to impress everyone with their chemistry. The film has been receiving positive response from audiences as well as members of the film fraternity. Great music presented by the film which is director Mohit Suri‘s specialty has helped boost the film’s image.
Hamari Adhuri Kahani’s performance over the weekend has not been up to the mark. We are awaiting to see how the film performs over the weekdays competing with Dil Dhadakne Do which is still going strong and Jurassic World which showed more promise during the weekend.
