It Was A Thrilling Experience For Radhika Apte To Work In Ahalya!

Radhika-ApteBollywood actress Radhika Apte gained a lot of attention after her performance in film Badlapur. The actress proved that she is capable of anything and immensely talented. After Badlapur, the audiences saw Radhika in Manjhi: The Mountain Man’s trailer. And now, the actress recently shot for director Sujoy Ghosh’s short film named Ahalya.

Director Sujoy Ghosh is known for his excellent films, be it feature films or short films, his work often leaves audiences speechless. In this Bengali-English film Ahalya, Radhika Apte shared the big screen with veteran actor Soumitra Chatterjee and Tota Roy Chowdhury. The Badlapur actress was absolutely thrilled to work with director Sujoy Ghosh in this short film.

The film tells the legendary story of Ahalya, the wife of Gautama Maharishi in Hindi mythology. The story somehow goes like this; Ahalya was seduced by the King of Gods, Indra and later cursed for infidelity. Ahalya’s curse was then broken by Lord Ram. The short film was recently released on digital platforms. Radhika Apte has yet again mesmerized the audiences with her mind blowing performance in Ahalya.

On work front, we’ll soon get to see Radhika Apte opposite to actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui in Manjhi: The Mountain Man. The movie is about Dashrath Manjhi, also known as Mountain Man, who broke a mountain for love. Born in a poor family from the low cast, Dashrath lived in a remote village far cut off from the world, surrounded by edgy and rocky mountains. He was madly and deeply in love with his wife, Phaguniya. Dashrath’s world shattered into pieces when his wife slipped while climbing the mountain and fell to her death. This tragic incident turned Dashrath’s life upside down. Burdened by the grief of lost love, he decided to carve out a safe way through the edgy mountain, where a lot of people have fallen to their deaths. It took him 22 years of carving and breaking to form a path through the mountain. Seasons came and went, but he stood still like a rock, stiff on his decision, with nothing more than a hammer and a chisel, he achieved his goal.

Manjhi: The Mountain Man is a true inspiring story of love, passion and grief. The biopic is all set to hit the theatres on 21, August 2015.
