YouTube Opens Studio For Film Creators In Mumbai

Well with the new technology and with the spread of new networks, the top video sharing website YouTube is planning to open a studio for film creators in Mumbai, India. On Wednesday, YouTube company announced its collaboration of YouTube Space Mumbai with filmmaker Subhash Ghai’s Whistling Woods International (WWI). With the new announcement, comes a new opportunity for the students and the creators on YouTube.

Number of YouTube viewers and creators has spread like wildfire in last couple of years in India. Two of the famous YouTube channels AIB and entertainment network TVF have gained more than 1 million views along with their popularity after being on YouTube. Within the span of two years both the entertainment channels have reached on popularity.

The YouTube space is on the 7th place in Mumbai after launching similar ventures in Los Angeles, London, Tokyo, New York City, Sao Paulo, and Berlin.

David Macdonald, Head of YouTube Spaces in Asia Pacific, said in a blog post “India is seeing an emergence of a new generation of YouTube creators who are capturing the color, music, humour, and drama of India more creatively than ever before. In fact, Indian creators are now amongst the top contributors in Asia when it comes to driving time spent on YouTube watching videos.”

“Through this collaboration, India’s popular up-and-coming YouTube creators, as well as their students, will have free access to Whistling Woods’ studios, high-end audio, visual and editing equipment, in addition to training programs, workshops and community events,” YouTube said in a blog post.

With Netflix Inc and Amazon.com moving towards original content online and independent low budget films, Google is also planning to movie in the same direction as theirs by producing ad-free original content.

The new YouTube space is slated to open in 2015 with good opportunities and facilities for Whistling Woods International students, in their curriculum as YouTube being part of it. The facilities are designed so that creators and students can produce original digital video content.

From filming, editing to uploading, YouTube has ultimately become a part of Bollywood or we can say for film industry genre.
