Radio Mirchi 98.3 FM celebrates No Honking Day

Mumbai: Continuing with its spirit of partnering social and public issues, Radio Mirchi 98.3FM has joined hands with Mumbai Traffic Police to observe 7 April as No Honking Day an initiative to reduce noise pollution.
 
No Honking Day is an approach to lend a helping hand to Mumbai Traffic Police to make an appeal to Mumbaikars to desist from using their horns when not required. The activity is led by the DCP Traffic Mumbai Harish Baijal and various other celebrities.
 
The initiative was flagged off on 5 April by Amitabh Bachchan, who lent his support to the cause by symbolically pasting the No Horn Today sticker on his personal vehicle. Other Bollywood stars like Anil Kapoor, Rajpal Yadav, Sukhwindar Singh, Arshad Warsi, Dino Morea, Faizal Khan, Kailash Kher, Monty Sharma, Sheetal Menon, Sonali kulkarni, Tushaar Kapoor, Rahul Bose, Mandira Bedi and Cyrus Broacha have also joined the league. Chief of Anti Terrorism Squad Mr Hemant Karkare and  DCP Shabde have also joined in.
 
With No Honking Day, Radio Mirchi wants to drive home the importance of a noise free environment so that Mumbaikars are able to experience a healthy and pollution free life.
 
To make it even more exciting for the listeners, Radio Mirchi 98.3 FM has provided an opportunity to enjoy a chopper ride courtesy Raymond. Listeners can participate in the chopper ride contest by answering questions related to traffic rules.
 
To catch the culprits and spread more awareness Radio Mirchi RJs will travel in Mirchi vans and search for the worst sounding horn in the city and will reward the most patient people on road.
