Compact Disc raises $30 million for Playing with the Enemy

Mumbai: Compact Disc India Ltd has received approval from a foreign bank to fund $ 30 million for a live action World War II drama-based international movie titled Playing with the Enemy.

This movie is a co-production with WhiteLight Entertainment, which has to its credit blockbusters like Jurassic Park, Schindler’s List, Minority Report, The Lost World, Twister, Casper, Rain Man, The Flintstones, etc. The movie revolves around a baseball player who finds redemption in teaching German Prisoners of War how to play baseball.

WhiteLight Entertainment has to its credit 33 Academy Award nominations, 19 Academy Awards including two for the Best Picture and a total box office collection of $ 4 billion for the 14 movies they have produced so far.

The gross estimated worldwide revenues from Playing with the Enemy are $318.20 million and the net estimated income/profits are $ 121 million. The principal photography of the movie will start in Canada in July 2008. The movie is slated to release in the first quarter of year 2009.
