Mumbai: Sanjay Gupta is all set to make a film based on Vine of Desire, a book by Chitra Divakurni Banerjee.
The book is a sequel to the bestseller Sister of My Heart. The story, about two half sisters, impressed the director so much that he instantly decided to give a vision to it.
The film will be made under the White Feather Films banner.
Gupta said, "I was specially impressed by Vine of Desire. I could visualize the entire story while reading it. It was like watching a film in my mind. There is this usual perception that film directors cannot do justice to stories of novel writers. The director’s vision does not match up to the authors. But that has not been the case with classics. Films like Devdas and Parineeta have done pretty well for themselves. I am sure the same will be the case with Vine of Desire."
