After a long struggle of finding the right director for the next installment ‘Furious 8‘, the makers of the film have finally revealed their choice. Apparently ‘Straight Outta Compton’ director F Gary Gray has been selected to direct the much awaited flick ‘Furious 8′ which comes out in the year 2017. Gary took to his Facebook page to share a photo in which he captioned the news for us. Definitely the director is happy to be on board and work with Vin Diesel once again.
Gary wrote on Facebook, “I could not have asked for better partners than Vin Diesel, Neal H. Moritz, & the Universal Studios Entertainment family. Together we are excited to bring you the next chapter in the Fast & Furious saga. #FastFamily” He shared a photo that reads FF8 with its possible release date April 14, 2017. After the previous film Furious 7 shattered box office records making over a billion dollars worldwide, the pressure to deliver another hit falls on the shoulder of F Gary Gray now.

It will be the franchise’s first film without actor Paul Walker who’s demise saddened everyone around the world. ‘Furious 7’ saw the actor’s final performance which was one of the reasons of the worldwide success. Due to the emotional quotient, many fans have been opposing the making of ‘Furious 8′ as they think it is time to let the franchise go. However ample of fans are rejoicing since Vin Diesel revealed that it was Paul’s wish to see another film happening.
Vin Diesel had earlier revealed that with ‘Furious 8′, the franchise will be returning to the street racing theme of the original films. ‘Fast and Furious’ that started off as a street racing film went on to become action adventures filled with deadly stunts and dangerous villains and what not! F Gary Gray has directed films like ‘Friday’, ‘Set It Off’, ‘The Negotiator’, ‘Straight Outta Compton’, and the remake of ‘The Italian Job’. Expectations are certainly riding high with ‘Furious 8′!
