MUMBAI: The poor response to the Madhuri Dixit-hosted marriage reality show on Sony – Kahin Na Kahin Koi Hai – some years back hasn’t deterred Star Plus to go the same route. The channel has now tied up with People Group’s matrimonial website Shaadi.com for its new show that will go on air soon.
The show, combining reality and entertainment together, will focus on marriage, and will trace the journey of participants right from the initial meeting, selection, discussion and drama, culminating into a Big Fat Indian Wedding. To register for the show, eligible participants can log onto www.shaadi.com and fill in a form online. Registrations will be open from 15 – 30 January, 2009.
The show is open to all eligible single male and female Indian residents, who can speak fluent Hindi and are aged between 22 to 25 (for females) and 22 to 30 (for males).
Shaadi.com business head Vibhas Mehta said, "Marriages have been one of the most discussed topics for Indians globally, right from when they’re born to when they attain marriageable age. Likewise, reality TV is also one of the newest trends in India. Matrimonies through reality TV is one great concept that Indian television lacked. Therefore, we are thrilled to be associated with Star Plus in their novel venture. Being one of India’s most trusted matrimonial sites for the last 11 years, Shaadi.com has a huge base of some of India’s most eligible youth. And for our expertise in the domain, it was only natural for Shaadi.com to be chosen as the exclusive window for participants wanting to register for the show. A dedicated team at Shaadi.com will screen each registration before entries are passed on to Star Plus."
