MUMBAI: The Tamil and Telugu version remakes of the Hindi film A Wednesday will go on floors from 7 April in Hyderabad.
The films are being produced by Kamal Hasan’s Rajkamak Films International. Hasan will also play Naseeruddin Shah’s role in both versions of the film, which are being shot simultaneously on a start to finish schedule.
Anupam Kher’s role will be played by Mohanlal in the Tamil version and by Venkatesh in the Telugu version. The Chief Minister will be replaced by a Chief Secretary to make it more relevant for the local people in Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh.
Kamal Hasan’s daughter Shruti Hasan will compose music for the two films. Chekravarthy will direct the films.
A source informs that the titles of the two films will not be A Wednesday, they will be changed. “The Tamil and Telugu titles will be registered within a week and announced duly.”
