MUMBAI: Zee Studio’s recently introduced film club, Shut Up and Watch (SAW) is all set to make a countrywide footprint with its latest set of free movie screenings across six metros.
The film club marked its beginning on 6 February at the Oxford Bookstore in Mumbai with an inaugural screening of the critically-acclaimed Paris Je T’aime, followed it up with a screening of the classic Madame Bovary on 8 March. This month, Zee Studio will be screening Motorcycle Diaries across Oxford Bookstore outlets in Mumbai, Bangalore, Delhi, Chennai, Kolkata and Bhubaneshwar. To add to the delight element, all viewers attending the screening will receive movie DVDs as gifts from Zee Studio and can avail a 10 per cent discount on Che Guevara’s book Motorcycle Diaries on which the film is based.
Zee Studio business head Sujay Kutty said, "When we launched Shut Up and Watch (SAW), our aim was to give our viewers a real, on-ground experience of the brand. We look at the movie club as a platform for celebrating quality cinema and leaving the audience with a memorable Zee Studio experience. The response to the movie screenings in Mumbai has been overwhelming over the past two months, motivating us further to take the club across other parts of the country. Month after month, the club will continue to bring remarkable film experiences to the audience."
Zee Studio has partnered with Oxford Bookstore with the purpose of connecting with the right segment of the target audience.
Oxford Bookstore official spokesperson Mou Sen Mukherjee said, "Oxford Bookstore is much more than a bookstore. While books are our core merchandise, we also have a solid Audio-visual section. Thus, this tie-up with Zee Studio to screen quality cinema gives us the opportunity to make people aware of our AV section and gift our readers some quality time over some relaxed movie-watching. The film club screenings have evoked a very good response amongst our customers. We are happy to have partnered with Zee Studio for the film club.”
