MUMBAI: Shemaroo Entertainment participated in the Global Cinema Festival – GCFEST – which is a weeklong feast of films organised by Film Federation of India in collaboration with the Government of Madhya Pradesh.
Global Cinema Festival was organized at Indore from 9 – 15 October 2009. This festival was inaugurated on 8 October 2009 by the Cultural Minister of Madhya Pradesh Laxmikant Sharma and actress Priyanka Chopra.
Shemaroo screened nine films at GCF, of which eight are Shemaroo World Cinema titles and one is an animation film.
Shemaroo Entertainment director Hiren Gada said, "It feels great to be part of a festival jointly organized by Film Federation of India and the State Government of Madhya Pradesh. This festival brings in a nice opportunity for audiences of Indore and Madhya Pradesh to watch this kind of cinema."
The Shemaroo films that were screened are: Blessed by Fire, Tess (Roman Polanski), Madadayo (Akira Kurosawa), Song of Sparrows, Ran, Rashomon, La Zona, Ghatothkach and The Quiet Duel.
