MUMBAI: Director actor Amole Gupte who played a Maharashtrian Mafioso in Vishal Bharadwaj’s Kaminey will now be playing a UP gangster in Subhash Kapoor’s With Love To Obama. His character in the film is said to be inspired by a prominent politician from UP.
“The film is a first of its kind comedy and a satire on recession where I play a politician-cum-ganglord whose business is unaffected by the recession” says Gupte. The story revolves around how the recession has taken a toll on the underworld by not only affecting the top corporate houses in metro cities but also gangsters in UP (Uttar Pradesh).
Apart from Gupte the film also stars Rajat Kapoor, Neha Dhupia, Manu Rishi Chadha and Sanjay Mishra.
The film is written and directed by Kapoor and Produced by Ashok Pandey of Revel Films.
