MUMBAI: Disney Channel presents its viewers an exciting themed celebration, titled Superstar Summer featuring a new Disney Channel star every week.
The channel has lined up a host of offerings all summer for families and kids — new hosts, new local shows, Disney Pixar movie premieres, Bollywood movies, favorite episodes of popular shows and lots more.
Starting the first week of April, summer will be hosted by Tara, Murtaza and Zain, in a holiday special, short-form program titled Big Bada Boom. The program will be a fun zone with games, trivia on popular shows, and music.
Tara, Murtaza and Zain will start the Superstars Summer celebrations featuring Hannah Montana on Big Bada Boom followed by several others.
Disney Channel will also showcase some Bollywood films such as Jaane Tu..Ya Jaane Na, Singh is Kingg and Chandni Chowk to China and Hollywood films such as A Bug’s Life, Meet the Robinsons and the latest adventures of much loved stars Buzz Lightyear and Woody in Toy Story 2.
Disney Channel’s Superstars Summer fun will continue with new episodes/seasons of on-going shows such Wizards of Waverly Place and Phineas and Ferb. New episodes of Hannah Montana will premiere on Disney Channel on 26 April, 2010.
Additionally, the Play House Disney (PHD) block on Disney Channel will feature Disney Channel’s little stars with new episodes of leading preschool shows — Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and Handy Manny premiering in April along with a new show Jungle Junction.
Disney Channel will also reintroduce classic Indian tales from ancient Tamil literature- Thirukkural with the first ever animated TV series based on this titled Ek Tha Jungle, starting 5 April, 2010 at 9.30 am (Monday to Thursday).
The summer bonanza will continue for all Disney Channel viewers, with a chance to win over 1001 prizes by answering simple questions featured on the channel from 10 am onwards. Three lucky winners stand to win a grand prize every month — A trip to Hong Kong for an entire family of four, an exciting hot air balloon ride and the chance to star in a music video with Disney Channel stars.
