MUMBAI: Warner Bros Pictures (India) creative director Vignesh Shetty has put in his papers at the company after a three year stint.
Speaking exclusively to Businessofcinema.com, Shetty says, "Working for Warner Bros has been a fantastic experience and I am glad the studio experience has given me the expertise to understand the all-important balance between creativity and commerce."
When queried on his next move, Shetty informs, "As India’s media and entertainment sector surges ahead, I feel it’s a great time for me to explore new challenges and opportunities or maybe even go back to my roots to write and direct a film next. But for now, all I can think of is a vacation."
Shetty has been with Warner Bros Pictures India since June 2008 as creative director, wherein he handled the day-to-day creative and business affairs with local producers and directors. He also oversaw the studio’s Hindi language co-productions like Atithi Tum Kab Jaoge?, Phas Gaye Re Obama, Ramayana The Epic amongst others.
Shetty, who comes from a film-making background, has also worked as associate director and assistant director in films like Taxi No. 9211 and Kyun Ho Gaya Na.
