MUMBAI: Eros International has become the first Indian film studio to sign a major multi-film agreement with South Korea’s largest telecommunication services provider. Eros has entered into a revenue sharing agreement with Korean Telecom (KT) to showcase 50 of Eros’ titles on multiple digital platforms including IPTV (Internet Protocol television), mobile and internet.

In South Korea, KT has the majority share of the domestic local telephone and high-speed internet business. Its platform, Olleh TV, will showcase 50 films from Eros’ library which includes blockbusters such as Yamla Pagla Deewana, Chalo Dilli, Houseful, No Problem, London Dreams and De Dana Dan.

The agreement follows Eros’ recently announced plans to release Endhiran, which is the largest highest grossing Tamil film in numerous international territories, in South Korea next month.

Eros International senior vice president – business development Kumar Ahuja said, "Considering the growing fan base that Bollywood movies have in South Korea and with our library of over 2,000 movies, we thought this was an ideal opportunity to exploit our content. We could not have chosen a better partner than Korean Telecom, a leader in integrated telecommunication service provision in South Korea."
