Shahid, it would be recalled, had to opt out after his next film directed by Maneesh of Band Baajaa Baaraat, got delayed because of the director’s back problem.
But then, something unforeseen happened. Ranbir’s bonding with Shahid got stronger in Macau when Shahid helped Ranbir with his stage performance.
Says an eyewitness from Macau, "The two did tributes to Shammi Kapoor and Dev Anand. Shahid is to the stage what a fish is to water. But this was Ranbir’s first stage performance, and he was nervous. Shahid helped him with his steps."
Further bonding between the two actors happened when Shah Rukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra kept rehearsing for their skits and anchoring much longer than expected.
Said a source from Macau, "They just wouldn’t leave the stage long enough for Ranbir to rehearse his steps with Shahid. Ranbir got more and more anxious. Finally Katrina Kaif invited Shahid and Ranbir to rehearse their act along with hers at the same time."
It was during this period that Ranbir realized how invaluable Shahid would be on stage.
And the latest news on World Tour is that Shahid is trying his utmost to adjust his dates to accompany Ranbir.
Besides Ranbir, Shahid and Katrina, the world tour would also feature Priyanka Chopra and Anushka Sharma.
Confirming these developments Rishi Kapoor who would also be the tour’s producer says, "Shahid and my son have become good friends. He is likely to join us. The rest of the details are still being finalized."
Regarding his own performance on stage with his son Rishi says, "There’s a demand for it. But whether my injured knees allow me the pleasure of dancing with my son, remains to be seen."
