Saif Ali Khan for more films on hockey

MUMBAI: Saif Ali Khan says he plans to promote his home production "Agent Vinod" through the World Series Hockey starting Feb 29.

"Hockey needs to be promoted and even ‘Agent Vinod’ needs a platform. Like hockey even ‘Agent Vinod’ has national hero in it. Both need attention and that is how both are connected," Saif told reporters Thursday at a press conference to unveil the trophy of World Series Hockey.

Bridgestone, the world largest tyre and rubber manufacturing company, has partnered with World Series hockey that will continue till April 2 and will involve 200 leading Indian and international players who will showcase their talent in 59 matches.

Saif has a cross-marketing tie-up with the series and his film "Agent Vinod".

Saif is glad to be associated with sporting events and said: "Since hockey is our national game, more films should be made on this subject. Hockey does deserve much more importance."

So far the only commercially successful film on hockey has been Shah Rukh Khan starrer "Chak De! India".
