MUMBAI: Megastar Amitabh Bachchan has sent out a congratulatory note to actor Soumitra Chatterjee, who has been selected for India’s highest film honour – the Dadasaheb Phalke Award for 2012.
"Soumitra Chatterjee gets the Dada Saheb Phalke Award… congratulations Soumitra da… such a magnificent journey in cinema," Amitabh tweeted.
The Bengali actor made made his debut in 1959 with Satyajit Ray’s "Apur Sansar". He went on to feature in Ray’s classics like "Sonar Kella", "Charulata", and "Ghare Baire".
