While his movie Befikre is nearing for the release, Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh surely does not want to be carefree and make sure that he does not hurt his fans in any way. The actor, who is known for his quirky, happening and bold behavior, found himself in the middle of the controversies with an advertisement. Recently, Ranveer featured in an advertisement by Danish menswear brand Jack and Jones that was heavily criticized on Twitter for its sexist approach. Though the company apologized for the same, Ranveer Singh’s fans demanded apology from the actor. The actor has now released a statement saying that he treats all the women with respect and that he will never personally do anything to disrespect them.
Ranveer Singh issues an statement that reads, “It was important to give the brand creative freedom while designing their campaign, but I guess we got it wrong on one of those billboards and I’m sorry this happened but it’s a thing of the past. We rectified it immediately by having that hoarding taken down ASAP from everywhere over 30 cities overnight. I treat all women with the utmost respect both professionally and personally and would never do anything to disrespect them.”
The fans were badly upset at the actor as the ad showcased women as s*x object. A complaint against the ad was registered in the Advertising Standards Council of India (ASCI) forcing the MNC to withdraw the ad at once.
