Kareena Kapoor-Sanjay Leela Bhansali saga continues

MUMBAI: Shortly after apparently walking out Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Ram Leela’, Kareena Kapoor has allotted her dates for Punit Malhotra’s latest, opposite Imran Khan. In our earlier reports, we had mentioned that Kareena’s manager Zahid Khan had explained that they felt that it was better to do three films in 150 days than just get stuck with one. It seems that Kareena is following that plan studiously.
Punit’s project will be the second romcom that Kareena and Imran will come together for, under Karan Johar’s Dharma productions – the first one being ‘Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu’. A source close to Karan revealed, “She has given preference to Punit’s film simply because of Karan. Karan, Punit and Kareena met at the Dharma Productions office in Khar recently. By the end of the lengthy discussion, Karan prevailed upon her and Kareena was convinced about the project.”
This movie is among three big banner projects that Kareena will be working on simultaneously. Reports also suggest that she will be playing the role of a female Prime Minister in Prakash Jha’s next.
Meanwhile, filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali asserts that it was not Kareena who opted out of his film, but rather his choice to not go with the actress, as she was soon to tie the knot, and a ‘married Juliet’ would just not do.
