MUMBAI: Bollywood superstar and pivotal pillar of the Khan triumvirate Aamir Khan once again took time out from his busy work schedules, and accompanied his family to a film screening in Mumbai recently.
Last week, it was a football match with his kids, and over the weekend, the talented “intellectual” superstar was spotted enjoying a cerebral outing with his family, that of the screening of ‘Star Trek Into the Darkness’ at a suburban theatre. Clad casually in a white kurta, jeans and a black baseball cap, the pint-sized powerhouse performer looked thrilled to be watching this Hollywood film.
Wife Kiran Rao, grounded as ever in a simple sleeveless maxi dress, and his nephew Imran Khan (nattily dressed in a sea green tee and sky blue skinnies, which he paired with tan leather shoes; and which we wholeheartedly approve) and wife Avantika Malik were seen firmly by his side, enjoying their tubs of popcorn while watching the film.
Meanwhile, Kiran Rao has reportedly broken away from the shadow of her ultra famous husband, albeit professionally, and is set to launch her own production house ‘Kiran Rao Films’ or ‘KRF’ for short.
Revealed a source recently: “Kiran wants to produce her kind of cinema through this production house. These will be niche, low-budget films with good content–films that fail to have a platform because they don’t get the backing of a proper production house.”
Speaking about the first film under this new banner, the source added: : “‘The Ship of Theseus’ will be our first project and we will release it in July this year. Kiran has insisted that her films won’t compete at the box office or be pitched against any film commercially.”
