BOX OFFICE: ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’ Inches Closer To Rs 100 Crore Mark

‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’, directed by Ayan Mukherjee, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Aditya Roy Kapur and Kalki Koechlin and produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions, has had a fabulous first five days at the box office.

MUMBAI: ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’, directed by Ayan Mukherjee, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Aditya Roy Kapur and Kalki Koechlin and produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions, has had a fabulous first five days at the box office.

As reported, the film opened to packed houses on Day 1, generating a revenue in the range of Rs 197.5 million (Rs 19.75 crore) net. Saturday, Day 2 was even better, with collections of about Rs 202.3 million (Rs 20.23 crore) net. Sunday, Day 3 was the busiest day for ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’, with collections at approximately Rs 224.8 million (Rs 22.48 crore) net.

Monday was impressive too, with ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’ managing to set the cash registers ringing to the tune of Rs 129 million (Rs 12.9 crore) net, which is phenomenal, considering Mondays usually bring about a drastic drop in collections for most films.

Tuesday, Day 5 was also impressive, with collections at approximately Rs 118.3 million (Rs 11.83 crore) net.

The 5- day total is in the range of Rs 871.9 million (Rs 87.19 crore) net. With such astonishing box office collections, it is even more certain that ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’ will cross the Rs 100 crore barrier in a few short days.
