Will Ram Gopal Varma Make A Movie On Jiah Khan?

Will Ram Gopal Varma, a director known to tackle real-life incidents as well as the one to introduce Jiah Khan to Bollywood, make a feature film on the starlet, who recently committed suicide?

MUMBAI: Bollywood director Ram Gopal Varma is known for directing gritty dramas based on real-life incidents. He recently directed ‘The Attacks of 26/11’ based on the 26 November 2008 terror attacks in Mumbai. His film ‘Sarkar’ was reportedly based on the life of Bal Thackeray. Could Ram Gopal Varma now decide to direct a movie depicting Jiah Khan’s life?

Ram Gopal Varma was taken aback by Jiah Khan’s suicide. He was the one who introduced her to Bollywood when he gave her a starring role opposite Amitabh Bachchan in ‘Nishabd’. Recently, the filmmaker posted a video on his production company RGV Film Factory’s Youtube channel called ‘The Reel and the reality of Jiah’.

The video features clips of Jiah Khan’s character in Nishabd, coincidentally named Jiah, telling Amitabh Bachchan’s character ‘Zindagi ko lite leneka’. Ram Gopal Varma added at the end of the video, “How I wish we all could have made her follow this philosophy in real life too.”

This thought was brought about by Jiah Khan’s suicide letter wherein she blamed the suicide on the abuse she faced in a relationship rather than the issues she had with her career. Nevertheless, Ram Gopal Varma felt guilty that he hadn’t been able to provide support to her in her time of need. He said, “I wish I had gone out of my way to instill in her a hope for the future with the same vigour and enthusiasm as in the beginning when I made her believe that her dream will become a reality.” There is no doubt that Jiah Khan was one of Ram Gopal Varma’s favourite actresses. He mentioned on Twitter that he had never seen a debutant with as much spunk and spirit as her.

Ram Gopal Varma has been majorly affected by Jiah Khan’s death and may want to do one last act of goodwill for her. So will Ram Gopal Varma adapt Jiah Khan’s life for the big screen? Your guess is as good as ours, but the day he decides to do so, we’ll be waiting to see how Ram Gopal Varma portrays her life on the canvas.
