The funeral took place at Shivaji Park crematorium today and Bollywood turned out to be with the Barkhurdar in his last journey.

Many of Pran’s contemporaries were spotted at the funeral, even though quite a lot of them skipped the funeral. Spotted at the funeral were actors Amitabh Bachchan, Shatrughan Sinha, Anupam Kher, Danny Denzongpa, Raza Murad, Shakti Kapoor, Tinnu Anand, Raj Babbar, Salim Khan and Pankaj Dheer. Also spotted were Karan Johar and director-lyricist Gulzar.

Raza Murad was shocked at the low turn-out of Bollywood celebrities at the funeral. “This is not an event or an IIFA award function. If it was, then lot of celebrities would have come. It is sad that a man who gave 70 years of his life to Bollywood, you cannot give 70 minutes for him,” he said, sadly.

Shatrughan Sinha concentrated on the good times he shared with Pran sahab. “It is unfortunate that Pran sahab is no more. It was my honour to work with him and got so much to learn from him,’ he said.

Pran is survived by his wife Shukla, sons Arvind and Sunil and daughter Pinky.
